Cardo was hired by Cooperative Development Institute to evaluate multiple sites and develop a master plan for a new walkable community near downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. A neighborhood plan was created for a 65-acre parcel with beautiful valleys, ridges, ponds, and views of the surrounding area. Using a cooperative model of ownership, this new neighborhood will provide an array of housing options, along with community parks, amenities, and small-scale commercial spaces. Given the challenging topography, the site is organized into smaller villages, which are connected by a series of trails.
