Brooklyn Park EDA Site
In 2018, a 7-acre park and ride site was purchased by the Economic Development Authority (EDA) of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota with the intention to redevelop it into something more than an empty parking lot. After the EDA conducted numerous engagement sessions with members of the community, a request for qualifications was issued by the EDA, seeking out a new vision for the vacant site. Cardo’s master plan, in partnership with MVP Development, Design by Melo, and Good Neighbor Homes, was selected from 7 proposals in 2023. The master plan is mixed-use, walkable, and responsive to the community’s larger goals. 132 multi-family units, 32 of which are for-sale, are organized around a central park, steps from 20,000 square feet of commercial space. Cardo worked with the development team to refine the master plan with the community, City staff, and key stakeholders.
